Why Proper Golf Swing Tempo Leads To Better Golf Shots - ...first key to creating good tempo in the swing is to only swing about 70 percent on most of your golf shots. You can approximate how hard to swing by thinking of swinging as fast as you can at 100 percent. Then just tone it down a notch or two and you'll be swinging well. The idea behind proper tempo in the swing is to keep things under control. You still want to swing hard or swing like you mean it, but don't try and kill the ball. Trying as hard as you can will cause the tempo to get too quick and this is when swing errors or bad habits can...

Golf Stance Setup Tips - ...good balance, it's important to start out with a proper setup position. The golf stance should be about shoulder width apart for most full swing shots. With the driver, it is helpful to have your stance just slightly wider than shoulder width. It is important to have your feet the proper distance apart because it will help to promote better balance in the golf swing. A good stance gives a stable base around which you can swing and turn. A stance which is too wide or too narrow can tend to make a golfer's swing get off balance. With a stance too narrow it will be difficult to generate enough power to hit the ball far. And if the stance is too wide, a sway or lateral motion may develop which will lead...

3 Proven Practice Techniques That Will Lower Your Golf Score

I used to wake up every weekend bright and early with visions of birdies in my mind. I would eat a nice breakfast, hop in the car, and drive to the golf course. However, once I got there and had reached the third of forth hole I often wondered why I hadn't just stayed in bed. The vision of birdies changed into visions of pars. I used to repeat this every weekend all summer long. One day I just happened to get paired up with older golfer, he was in his 50's, had a big smile on his face and loved every minute he was out on the course. I immediately knew I wanted to be like this man.

I asked him what his secret was, how at your age are you playing so well and with so much ease? He looked at me and said "how much time do you spend practicing?" I had to think about it and eventually came to the conclusion of none of once in a while I go to the range. He looked at me and said there's your problem. My golf game didn't just come over night or improve with going out once or twice a week, it takes practice and dedication. I asked him what exactly he did for practice and this is what he told me.

Hit a penny off a mat. Can even do this one at home, perfect for educating the hands. Start out with a chip shot and learn to hit a penny off a mat. This drill will very quickly train the precision needed to get the ball airborne off the grass. If you can hit the penny you can hit the bottom of the ball and eliminate topped shots.

Similar to the strategy above, hit a penny out from under the ball Fine tune your clubhead aiming skills place the ball on a penny. Try to clip the penny out from underneath the ball. The best drill to reduce the hands flipping through impact.

Lastly, practice your hand eye coordination. There are many drills available for this, one technique that a world famous cricketer used, Sir Donald Bradman, was to hit a golf ball with a small stick off of his furnace. In this instance you can use a wall. Nevertheless, this will help improve your hand eye coordination and you will find striking the ball much easier.

I am now like that man, out there every weekend enjoying my golf and the visions of birdies have returned. I will tell you though, it didn't just happen overnight, I had to rededicate myself and continuously strive for improvement.

Long Drive Golf Tips - ...first things that are going to have to be correct every time you golf swing is that you have to find the middle of the clubface for solid ball contact. You can have all the clubhead speed in the world, but, without solid contact, you are losing distance. You can swing a weighted golf club to help increase your clubhead speed. You can also use those little donut weights that you slide down onto your club. The next tip that I would like to mention is your grip pressure. This is an extremely important golf tip that is often missed. Your hands must be tension free. The tighter you hold the club, the less it will release throughout the ball...
