Tips To Hit The Driver Further - ... swing speed is under 100 mph then you will want a driver with more loft (at least 10.5 degrees) and a less stiff shaft either a senior or regular flex. If you have a higher club head speed then go for something with less loft around 8.5 to 9.5 degrees and a stiff or ultra stiff shaft for maximum distance. Also try to stick with a proper length driver, something around 43 to 45 inches should work best for most people. A driver that is too long will be very difficult to hit accurately on a ...

What Does It Take To Become A Scratch Golfer? - need to practice ideally 5 times a week and you definitely want to give yourself at least 2 days off to recover from all that golfing. Rest is important so do not get over enthusiastic and practice every day otherwise you will wear yourself out and become ineffective. The way you practice also matters a lot, you want to spend time on the range working on your wedges at least 30% of the time and your driver at least 40% of the time. Also be sure to spend at least 15 to 20 minutes around the greens hitting various chips and bunker ...

Use This Golf Visualisation Routine to Rapidly Program Yourself to Play Better, More Confident Golf

Part of every good mental game program is the daily exercise of visualising yourself playing well on the golf courses you are competing on either in competitions or against your mates for bragging rights.

Every golfer needs a guide to effectively develop and master the inner game of golf for improved shot making, better results and more fun on the golf course right?

Here is a simple but effective daily routine for you to follow to stimulate your mind and program it for success. There are more complex and comprehensive programs available but this one is simple enough that you can very quickly memorise it and it can be done almost anywhere anytime.

Get yourself comfortable either in a chair or lying down. If you want to play music then I recommend you use specially designed tracks for slowing brainwave activity into a relaxed state. A word of caution here. You could fall asleep and have a really relaxing nap so make sure you set an alarm in case you do! Doing this at night is great because if you fall asleep it normally results in a great nights rest, especially if you have been using the special relaxation tracks.

Start taking nice slow deep breaths. Breath in through your nose, slowly allowing your lungs to fill and also let your stomach expand with the breath. Hold the breath for a few seconds, as long as you can that feels comfortable, then slowly exhale through your mouth allowing your stomach to fall back again with the breath. Continue doing this for several minutes until you are starting to feel really relaxed. Focus your mind on your breathing.

Now go to your golf course and have a wander around. Familiarise yourself with all the sights and settle in. In essence be there, just like you have arrived and are preparing to play. Be calm, confident and relaxed knowing you will play well.

Start playing some holes, any you like or all if you wish. Play them well and imagine one of your favourite golfers is caddying for you, giving you solid advice on what shot to hit and keeping you really focussed during each shot. Let your imagination go here and have fun. Don't just see yourself playing, imagine you are actually in your own body and feel yourself hitting the shots, hear the sound, watch the great results. Enjoy the compliments other people give you when you hit a great shot.

Play the last hole of the day and notice how you calmly and confidently finish off the match, holing the last putt with ease to win. Master the inner game and enjoy this winning moment.

When you have finished, shake hands with your playing partners and thank them when they congratulate you on playing so well and shooting such a great score. Allow the feeling of winning to wash through every cell in your body. Do what you would normally do after a match and enjoy the feeling of winning.

Practice this visualisation daily and you will soon start getting the reward on the golf course as your course management improves, you hit better shots and post lower scores all while playing calmly and confidently.

Ideally practice at night before you sleep, again in the morning when you first wake up and then have as many little top ups throughout the day as you can. The more you visualise what you want, the quicker it will begin to happen.

The top athletes do this every day on an ongoing basis. They know the power of it and that it needs to be done regularly. Modify your sessions according to what you think or feel you need to improve on.

Enjoy and have fun.
