Each time I use a particular driver in my golf bag it does me in. It is a hybrid driver, supposedly the best club to use, as told to me by my instructor. However, each time I use it the shot fails. I am beginning to wonder... do I need custom golf clubs or is it me. Do you have this problem?
Have you heard your best friend or other team players expressing this dissatisfaction or is it a question in your own thinking? This is a question that arises in both male and female players.
For some people the hybrids work great, for others, not so great. And you have probably been asking around to see if it is you or the golf club.
You probably got mixed reviews from your questioning. There will be as many opinions as the number of people you are asking. The answers were probably a range of borrowed clubs to custom golf clubs.
Do I need custom golf clubs? Here is a question list:
- Have you been professionally measured to get the most correct length or weight for your body?
- Do you need to consider additional training before giving, selling, or discarding clubs?
- Have you sampled different brands of drivers before settling down to one favored brand?
- Are you using the correct golf balls?
- Did you interpret your instructor's communications correctly as to how to hit with the driver?
- Are you having sincere practices?
- Have you learned to correct your technical mistakes and to correct bad shots?
- Are you both physically and mentally prepared to strike the ball with your driver?

Oh no, you did not want to hear that answer! It is a combination of things that may cause these hitting problems. Take time to review and see if you can possibly solve the problem.
Have you considered confidence rather than tension and stress? Remove the attention from yourself to the performing activity. The thinking and the act of focusing on the task at hand will perform wonders. The target is hit and you are happy and confident to help win the game.
The easiest problem to solve is...Do you like the golf course?
- Are you playing on a course that you enjoy?
- Is the course groomed and maintained?
- Are markers or tees set for children, women and men players?
- Are personnel pleasing and attentive to your golfing needs?
- Are there lockers and rest areas?
- Are there clinics?
- Are professional golf instructors available for both men and women?
- Do they have special events and tournaments?
All research set aside...Now the question is - am I confident or do I need custom golf clubs?
